Include way for this to happen for Noteflight Learn template copies as well.
Anonymous, you can already do this, at least in terms of creating multiple exercises , by creating a line break before the next "score". To hide the cautionary time/key signatures at the end of the previous line, hold 'control' while you type return/enter to create the line break.
We have overhauled our Search option! Read all about it here: https://notes.noteflight.com/noteflight-improves-search-features/
Note: we have not yet implemented all of the ideas listed here, but many of them are still in our future plans. Stay tuned.
In the meantime, enjoy the much-improved search functionality!
Sophia, please email us right away at firstname.lastname@example.org and give full details about what's going wrong. Your tech people may need to "whitelist" .noteflight.com.
Could you please check it again?
The option to show if a score is original was merged into this.
It has 545 votes so it is very important to this feature.
This is something we are thinking a lot about these days. Stay tuned for more news!
And if you are an education Noteflight Learn user, check out our Content Libraries! https://notes.noteflight.com/noteflight-learn-content-libraries/
Cool idea! We have this on our list of things to consider in the future.
Good point! We hope to overhaul our playback sounds in the future and will keep this in mind.
With a Premium or Learn subscription, there is a choral template that makes this a snap. Those subscriptions also include vocal parts. For Free users, you can create it by adding an instrument such as flute, then change the names in the left margin.
JA, we don't have a definite timeframe yet but please check back with us in the summer for an update!
Thank you. We know how amazing this will be and we are working steadily on making it a reality!
These are both great suggestions and we agree they are valuable!
Legato performance is supported via the new Slurs feature.
Good point. I'm going to re-open this.
As a workaround, you could add a slur over the whole piece and then hide it with the color palette.
Hello, this is a known bug we are working on. For now, try moving those items a little further from the bar lines. It is just a little border that is getting in the way.
If you have AdBlocker installed try turning that off and then print again. If still no luck, please send details about your browser and operating system, and a link to the score, to email@example.com. Thanks!
hello, please make sure you are following one of these methods:
To print or create a PDF, click the menu icon on the upper left inside the score, then choose the “score” palette.
There are two options, and the exact workflow differs a bit between different browsers.
Option 1: To print directly to a printer, choose “Print.” Some browsers may open the score in a different browser window, and ask you to print that. For more information:
Option 2: You can create a PDF, download it, and print that. To create a PDF, select “Export” in the same "score" palette, then “Export to PDF.” You can print a PDF from a program such as Adobe or Mac Preview. For more information:

Yes this is part of the update! Try creating a new 1st ending and you'll see - it can cover any number of measures.
Update! We have made a bit improvement in the repeat lines - give it a try!
This is on our short list! To be honest we haven't done many editor features lately as we are building some big new things. But we'll get back to this soon - don't give up on us!
We are honestly really sorry to lose you over this! It's actually quite high on our list of priorities but we are so busy with new features that we just haven't gotten there yet. Please check back soon!
I'm sorry it's taking so long - we are super busy with a big new project so some of our important editor projects are taking longer than usual. Don't give up on us!
Yes it will! It is actually on our "short list" but we are building some other big stuff, beyond the editor, that is slowing us down on editor stuff. But don't despair, this will be ready before long!
We are sorry not to have provided a fuller reply! We marked this "Under review" which was our way of saying that we are discussing it - and indeed we have been actively discussing it in the last few months, because we know how important it is to our users like you. The decision-making process for new features is very tricky and involves balancing a lot of factors. Sometimes a very needed and desirable feature like this is very complicated for our software developers to build, or involves redesigning or altering other features that many users already depend on. So, that's a long way of saying that although we probably won't have this feature ready within the next few months, we have not forgotten about it! We sincerely hope you'll stick with us, and we truly value your feedback.
Are you finding that our editor is working better for you? What are some pain points that are still happening for you? We know that with very large scores, editing can still be slow.
Thanks for your thoughts! We do that deliberately, in case you want to leave it open to grab tools easily. But I see the downside for sure too. If you reduce the zoom a bit, it won't overlap your score.
Albert, please write to firstname.lastname@example.org with the specific browser and operating system, and a link to a typical score where this is happening, so we can test it for you. With extremely large scores it can be a little slower, but should be working for you!
We have continued to make improvements in the design and performance our HTML5 editor. Always make sure you are using the most recent version of your browser, and keep us posted if you continue to see problems!
Hey everyone! Our work on improving the new editor continues. Please take a look at this list of recent updates. This process is not over by any means - we are still working on things and will continue to do so. This is just the latest progress. https://notes.noteflight.com/noteflight-score-editor-improves/
Thanks for the comments! Keep 'em coming. We are working on this every day.
Those of you who said the background was too bright - are you enjoying the new darker look?
Thanks for all the great comments so far! A quick reply for now, to "The Famous": we do have the octave-down treble clef with the "8" which is standard for tenor voices. But we don't offer the others because they are not standard notation. They are useful in some cases, but most players are not used to seeing them and may miss them. That doesn't mean we shouldn't offer them in the long run, because they are used sometimes and we want our users to have lots of options. But it means this isn't a high-priority item.
You can use 8va/8vb lines in the meantime - or for certain instruments the transposition is just understood - for example piccolo, double bass, glockenspiel, etc.
We know it has been a while. We're working on a larger review of our playback sounds and hope to include this. Stay tuned for that and other big things on the way!
Hi Brian, thank you for your note. I want to be sure I understand your specific need here: if you are writing for a live performance, Noteflight will work just fine: you can certainly write a decrescendo or crescendo and the performers will have the correct notation for the effect you need.
The only limitation here is in Noteflight's MIDI playback sounds. If you are opening Noteflight and pressing play during the showcase, that is when you would have the problem with this feature.
Have I understood correctly? Please let us know! Thank you.
stay, uh... tuned! we are working on this
Thanks! We will take a look at this as part of the guitar frames.
Hi Anna, this seems to be working ok when I test it! I replied on our support channel - please let me know if you don't find the solution soon.

Noteflight always had two options - Free or "Crescendo" (now called Premium).
Thanks for the catch - sorry about that! Fixed.
We renamed it "Premium" so it's no longer called "Crescendo". Just go to our main site and click "Sign up" in the top panel!
If you use NF 3.0, your score is automatically backed up to your hard drive as you work, and is then saved to the cloud when you reconnect with the internet. So you could work that way, though it is not risk free: there are some features that may not work, and there is a small chance that if your computer had to restart your edits could be lost (though this is not a big risk). Sorry not to give a more conclusive answer - the dev team could answer more conclusively but I wanted to get back to you quickly.
The first part of this is complete! See https://www.noteflight.com/guide#tuplets
For something like 15, it’s easier to use three quintuplets. That said, something like 11-tuplet is still not possible.
