We already offer selection of any range of notes, via touch. To select multiple notes in an iPad:

    1. Tap the first note (the cursor will start to blink)
    2. Put one finger on the last note of the range of notes you want to select (don’t release it!)
    3. Tap back on the first note you selected.

See here for a demonstration: https://youtu.be/L9YQ3CeTQ7Q

That said, the idea of a command field is interesting too, and we will give it full consideration.

Sorry about that! We are working on it and hope to have it fixed soon. Please check back next week after our next release.

Please try the method described and let us know if it doesn't work!

    1. Tap the first note (the cursor will start to blink)
    2. Put one finger on the last note of the range of notes you want to select (don't release it!)
    3. Tap back on the first note you selected.

Thanks for your comment and I'm sorry we were not more responsive in the past! Normally we are eager to make things right so I am sorry that didn't happen in this case. If you still need a refund, could you email info@noteflight.com with your account details? Thanks again!

AdminRobin McClellan (Admin, Noteflight) commented  ·

Noteflight always had two options - Free or "Crescendo" (now called Premium).

AdminRobin McClellan (Admin, Noteflight) commented  ·

Thanks for the catch - sorry about that! Fixed.

AdminRobin McClellan (Admin, Noteflight) commented  ·

We renamed it "Premium" so it's no longer called "Crescendo". Just go to our main site and click "Sign up" in the top panel!

AdminRobin McClellan (Admin, Noteflight) commented  ·

If you use NF 3.0, your score is automatically backed up to your hard drive as you work, and is then saved to the cloud when you reconnect with the internet. So you could work that way, though it is not risk free: there are some features that may not work, and there is a small chance that if your computer had to restart your edits could be lost (though this is not a big risk). Sorry not to give a more conclusive answer - the dev team could answer more conclusively but I wanted to get back to you quickly.

Thank you for your message and I’m so sorry for the slow reply! We absolutely agree this is needed, and we are working toward this as quickly as we can. As I understand it, it’s a very different task to do this for music notation than for text as in Google Docs and other things, so it’s taking us a bit longer. But please stay tuned!

AdminRobin McClellan (Admin, Noteflight) commented  ·

Hello! We are so sorry this happened! Is this the score? https://www.noteflight.com/scores/view/fe5f1f6c25b3b85e16936033a7ca6f803d2a828f

Please go back to the score in the same exact browser and same device, and if it asks to keep changes say YES.

Please write to support@noteflight.com and let us know the full story and any other details!

We completely understand and this is important to us!

As a workaround for now, you can use Performance text: select a note, type T for the text prompt, then the note name. Not ideal but hopefully it will work for now!

Hi and sorry for the slow reply! What you can do is:

    1. Select all the notes you want to add the rest before
    2. Click right and HOLD on one of the notes (not a rest) and drag to the right. A box will appear showing the new position of the selected notes:
    3. When you let go of the mouse button, the notes will be dropped into that position, leaving a rest in their place.

We do have the new tools in the layout menu, “move above” and “move below”, and also “reset layout”. But these don’t (yet) do everything you’re suggesting, and you are proposing some good ideas. Stay tuned for updates!

AdminRobin McClellan (Admin, Noteflight) commented  ·

We are working on this! In the meantime, you can already change stem direction for a selected note or notes. See: https://www.noteflight.com/guide#stemDirection

    Thanks!

We will be changing this so that two 8ths / quavers appear instead of two quarters / crotchets. Thanks for your feedback!

Include way for this to happen for Noteflight Learn template copies as well.

AdminRobin McClellan (Admin, Noteflight) commented  ·

Anonymous, you can already do this, at least in terms of creating multiple exercises , by creating a line break before the next "score". To hide the cautionary time/key signatures at the end of the previous line, hold 'control' while you type return/enter to create the line break.

Sophia, please email us right away at support@noteflight.com and give full details about what's going wrong. Your tech people may need to "whitelist" .noteflight.com.

Could you please check it again?

The option to show if a score is original was merged into this.
It has 545 votes so it is very important to this feature.

This is something we are thinking a lot about these days. Stay tuned for more news!

With a Premium or Learn subscription, there is a choral template that makes this a snap. Those subscriptions also include vocal parts. For Free users, you can create it by adding an instrument such as flute, then change the names in the left margin.

Good point. I'm going to re-open this.

As a workaround, you could add a slur over the whole piece and then hide it with the color palette.

If you have AdBlocker installed try turning that off and then print again. If still no luck, please send details about your browser and operating system, and a link to the score, to support@noteflight.com. Thanks!

AdminRobin McClellan (Admin, Noteflight) commented  ·

hello, please make sure you are following one of these methods:

    --
To print or create a PDF, click the menu icon on the upper left inside the score, then choose the “score” palette.

There are two options, and the exact workflow differs a bit between different browsers.

Option 1: To print directly to a printer, choose “Print.” Some browsers may open the score in a different browser window, and ask you to print that. For more information:
    https://www.noteflight.com/guide#printScore

Option 2: You can create a PDF, download it, and print that. To create a PDF, select “Export” in the same "score" palette, then “Export to PDF.” You can print a PDF from a program such as Adobe or Mac Preview. For more information:
    https://www.noteflight.com/guide#action-export
