Yes, I agree. Without it, it is next to impossible to notate the lower and higher octaves without them running into the other staffs. And pedals would be nice to, at least to add some legato (another thing you need, slurs)

seriously, I don’t want to notate every trill and mordent. And it screws up the rhythm if I try what ibcaptainchu said, especially on the first beat of a measure. Not to mention it seriously clutters up the score for no reason. Thanks!
