Since this suggestion addresses filtering options in the news items list, I'll field this idea in conjunction with it: how about eliminating from the list the comments that I make on my own scores? I don't need to see them there, and I consider the fact that they trigger the "Your News" notification always annoying and generally disappointing.
I have no votes available currently, but I'd also like to hear at least one of the Noteflight pianos incorporate an expanded sample set wherein the patch used would truly reflect the expression text directives instead of merely resulting in increased or decreased volume.
Thank you for this suggestion! We will review your ideas, but in the meantime, a question:
Our Groups feature lets you share and manage scores – please see https://notes.noteflight.com/noteflight-groups-now-available/
Does some of this function replace what you need Collections for?
The default sort order for collections is by date - most recent scores first. I sort some collections by title. I'd prefer that whatever sort order I select for a given collection would remain in effect unless I change it. As it is, moving a score from one collection to another, for example, causes the order to revert to the default.
We have overhauled our Search option! Read all about it here: https://notes.noteflight.com/noteflight-improves-search-features/
Note: we have not yet implemented all of the ideas listed here, but many of them are still in our future plans. Stay tuned.
In the meantime, enjoy the much-improved search functionality!
I don't think it fair that original scores have to compete with transcriptions and arrangements for favorites, at least not on the favorites lists: recent favorites and all-time favorites. No telling exactly the ratio, but you must SURELY realize that some number of favorites that transcriptions/arrangements garner are as the result of people's appreciation for the music AS IT WAS RELEASED BY THE ORIGINAL ARTISTS and not necessarily because they are such stellar works on their own. Just consider the inordinate number of such non-original-to-Noteflight scores there are on the all-time favorites list and my point is easily substantiated.
Especially when you take into account that there are copyright issues involved, originals and transcriptions/arrangements really should be separate categories. Incidentally, by way of reminder: we're coming up on a year that this has been "UNDER REVIEW." I'm just sayin'....
