I think it would be helpful for Noteflight users if scores could be categorized by their type (Band, Orchestra, Pop, Rock, Brass, Choir, Piano Solo, etc.).
My idea is this: Before you publish a score, there should be a little search box in the 'score options' area. You type in the type of music you'd like to categorize your score as, and chose from the categories Noteflight would provide (Typing in a 'B' would summon the categories Band, Brass, Baroque, ect. ).
This feature would mainly help people who are interested in Brass music, Baroque music, or whatever, to find your score. All they'd have to do is click the score tab, and under that tab along with 'All Scores', 'Recent Faves', and 'All time Faves', there would be another option called 'Categories' or something like that. Clicking that option would bring you to a page filled with buttons displaying the different Music categories, and clicking one of those buttons would display all the scores that have recently been marked in that category.
If you wanted to be super fancy, you could make the different category buttons with pictures on them as well as a title (For instance, the category 'brass' would have a picture of artist's render of brass instruments on it).
I really think that would organize the great sea of scores floating around on Noteflight, while enabling the users to find music they love.
If you're not going to do this, at least show in some way that the comment has been edited my someone else, and who edited it. That will show that what the comment says may not be coming from the person who posted it.
I think it would be nice if those messages were posted on your profile, kinda like Pandora profiles. That would make things easier.
We would love to implement better ways for users to communicate! Does the following idea sound similar to what you’re suggesting? http://feedback.noteflight.com/forums/4962-tell-us-your-thoughts/suggestions/2155805-sending-messages
