You can copy/paste some corresponding unicode characters into the chord symbol (e.g. CΔ, Eº, Gø, etc.), but having the right symbols in the interface along with sharp/flat would be handy.

We just released this feature in 2.7.1! View menu now allows measure numbers to be displayed/printed at start of each system.

Double-dots are an option under the Symbols palette (perhaps a newer feature than this idea), but I agree, a 1-3 dot toggle would be a more convenient interface.
