what if you used Lilypond as a backend for the printing process (as a web app)? I think that would be an amazing collaboration that could bring a lot of benefits to both projects: Noteflight would get wonderful typesetting capabilities, Lilypond would get increased accessibility and use.
You could let Lilypond do the typesetting and create the PDF or Postscript file. At that point, the user could decide what they want to do with their impeccably type-set score :).
Don't know if it's possible, but I think it would be AMAZING.

hi Joe,
I was just going to suggest "enable print to PDF" -- I run Linux (Ubuntu 9.10) and Firefox 3.5 but the Noteflight print dialog doesn't give me my "print to file" options. It only sees the physical printers installed on the system.
furthermore, the only options it gives are "page range." No quality settings, etc.
It would be great if I could use the normal print dialog that Firefox uses, to select whether I want a physical or file print, and choose the quality, etc.

I disagree. This IS essential. In general, I believe the developers should prioritize simple features and functions like this that will make the notation easier to enter, more beautiful and complete. The more advanced functions (e.g., midi playback features) are nice, but not essential.

basically all you have to do is create an option to import the html code to display their ready-made CC license stamps where the copyright field exists at the bottom of the score!
