Thanks for the detailed thoughts. These are valuable ideas, and we’ve been mulling this kind of thing over for a while. We’ll probably mull a while longer before doing it, because we want to think more about how this could work in an online context where snippets can be shared.

I should also have included articulations such as flute vibrato, string tremolo, and so on.

There are a bazillion different articulations for the various string instruments, and it would be nice if Noteflight could support some of the more common ones - pizzicato and trills, for example.
The ability to easily select articulations and get (semi) accurate playback without having to fiddle with MIDI settings (ie: insert key switches or instrument changes) to get various articulations is one thing that makes programs like Notion attractive.
Noteflight already supports a number of articulations, but having more (especially pizzicato and trills) would be very nice!

I've noticed that this behavior doesn't always work. That is:
1. I select a chord by the stem.
2. I drag it to the right.
3. I add a Ctrl to change the mode. The icon changes (+) to indicate the mode.
4. I drag the chord ahead and drop it.More often than not, Noteflight will act like this is a simple drag and drop.

Thanks for the tip.
By the way, very nice work! Noteflight is perhaps the most user friendly music notation program I've used.

Having string ensembles (first violins, second violins, violas, cellos, basses) would be useful in getting a larger string sound. For "low quality", simply using a single "strings" patch for all of these sets would be better than nothing.

Thanks for the consideration. :-)
