Add Articulation in midi player

There are several ways a midi player can "fake" real playing, here are some suggestions: I think that it would be apropriate if the midi player played the first ntoe of every measure slightly louder as if they had about half an accent, or something like that. Also, I think that if it recognized a scale, such as treble C, treble E, treble G, treble A, treble G. It would recognize C E G A has a strtaight line and so would play them all legato, and would play a break between A and G. This would make it a bit more realistic. In addition, when people put slurs, it would be a better midi player if it played the middle of the slurs louder than the ends of the slurs in order to "shape the phrase". It would also be nice in my opinion if when 2 of the same notes were played next to eachother with one note inbetween, then those notes would be slurred. I don't know if these ideas are already thought, impossible, or already implemented, but I think that these, if possible, would make some great improvements to the midi player.

I understand that noteflight needs to make a profit, but it would be better to do so in a way that does not conflict with creativity. After filling up the 10 scores, i am discouraged from using noteflight. A better strategy would be to allow me to explore the capacities of the website and convince me to purchase crescendo based on other features.

Sometimes, I just want to move stuff about without adding anything new. It's so annoying when I'm clicking here and there to select specific notes just to *move* them to different positions only to find that new notes start to turn up here and there that I didn't want. Most of the time I want to start a score with a guitar part, but as always, a new score starts with piano. So I have to wait for all the piano sounds to load before I create a guitar staff, and then delete the piano staffs. It would be nice if every user could set thier default preferences so new scores would be more what they want.

Ctrl+S, Ctrl+C, Ctrl+V, Ctrl+X, Ctrl+Z, Ctrl+Y don't work, at least on my Vista IE7 running Flash Player 10. I used those shortcuts eight times for this post alone, it is such a pain to "Edit/Paste" everything...

It would be great if one could choose the playback volume of the voices (instruments) individually for each voice. This could make quite some difference in the sound quality of an entire score. Thank you anyway for doing such a great job!!!

When I add crescendos and decrescendos onto a score, then the dynamics sound too chunky. If you put a dynamic marking after the cresc. or dim. then the playback should be able to gradually change from one to the other.

Oh my gosh! I love Noteflight, but I think that there should be an iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad app. I really want it. It would be great! I could write music on my iPod Touch/iPhone/iPad. It doesn't have to be free, but PLEASE don't make it over $4.00. It should be free though. Also, make it so you can log in to your account and continue on one of your projects. I would love it. I don't know if this could be possible, but it would be AWESOME if there was a tool that showed if a Noteflight user copied from your score. It would be helpful if we could play BOTH of them at the same time and hear both parts at once. I use arco very much. I would like an arco bass version, as well as pizzicato versions of the common string instruments (violin, viola, cello)

I've noticed that my pieces get a little bit bulky since they repeat a lot. There's a notation used in music that looks something like a reversed "%" sign which designates that a measure is to be repeated x amount of times, or those two measures need to be repeated x amount of times, etc. I know you have the repeat feature, but it would be great if there was notation so that the reader wouldn't be so intimidated by all the notes. Could you implement this feature? Also do the same thing with multiple rests, numbering them as you go along. (The rests one should be easier.

We all know of the thing that floats around when you edit the sheet music. It's the thing that has the quarter notes, the eight notes and of course dynamics and the tablature and everything else. I can't stand the fact that it moves around. It gets in my way when I'm trying to edit the sheet music. Wouldn't it be great if it stays like on the side of the editor? Like, maybe in the upper right hand corner or upper left hand corner? Just so it stays out of our way. Won't it be much easier?

Just thought that glissando's would be a useful feature. I happen to be a trombonist (which still hasn't been added) and would like to see glissando's added. I do appreciate that it would be hard to script a piano glissando, but I hope you will be able to do something about this. Thanks in advance.

Noteflight users submitted ideas so that they could use the ideas for free. Now, Cresendo has basically "taken away" the ideas and used them for Noteflight's profit. I like the idea of new instruments, etc., but only if they were for free. I thought Noteflight's purpose was to help everyone receive free music composing online software. I am very disappointed. Please review your decision. I really don't want to have to pay for such a great program like Noteflight

When forums are around for a long time, they should be bumped back to the top of the forum list when somebody comments. If Forum A stars, and everybody comments on it, then when somebody comments on forum B, I have to go 3 pages back to comment on forum A again, but forum A should just be second on the list so people continue commenting on it

If you put a tremolo on a mallet instrument, snare drum, cymbal, etc, it should maybe play a recording of that roll, instead of very CHOPPY, ANNOYING, roll-ish things. What would be nice is if any element that can be selected can be hidden—barlines, clefs, time signatures, even staves, among others. Sometimes I have a part with rests for sixty measures that I don't want to show up in the score until they come in.

I often use the left and right arrows in Sibelius to check I have the right pitches in a melody line. When you move to the next note it plays it, so you can easily preview the note without having to go back and hit the play button each time.

Youtube and mygamebuilder has a views/plays count on the project. It would be great to have that same feature on this site.

Sometimes, I go to my favorites list to listen to one of the many incredible compositions on Noteflight that I have favorited. But I have many pages of favorites. It would be more convienent if we could search through our favorites to find a specific score.
