Performance improvement suggestion
Right now noteflight is "too flexible" regarding the layout mode.
What I mean is, on every step of the way noteflight has to calculate all notes' and symbols' length, then calculate the measure's length, the see how much fits in a line, then calculate this for the whole file.
What I'm suggesting is simple: Add a setting where the user picks the default count measures in a row.
So assuming the default is 4, noteflight will force each line to have 4 measures in it.
And then only if I put a system break anywhere, it will consider that too.
This will solve most of the performance issues :-)

We are currently working on a set of performance improvements to Noteflight that should have a very large impact. Your understanding about what Noteflight does is not quite correct, but what we’re doing is very much along the lines you describe.

What I meant by "every edit" is every edit like changing a system break, or adding measure etc...
My idea was not to actually limit the number of measures per line, but to set a "default" limit, which can be changed globally, and we will still have the option of adding system breaks wherever we want.
Thanks for the idea of using Strip mode, I'll try that, though it is a bit inconvenient because I can't see the lines organized...
Is there an ETA on an update?
