I would like to be able to talk to other composers for some advice or just to be able to chat about being composers.

A forum is pretty much essential in any site, it brings together the community to discuss various topics. In the case of a music website like this I imagine people would discuss stuff like theory, their own songs and music in general. It kinda surprises me that Noteflight doesn't have a forum yet.

I think it should include those special features you put up. Sounds like a great idea!

Given the nature of the internet/web it seems too retro NOT to have links to relevant music samples for illustrative purposes. As the forum might become VERY large and complex, a hierarchy of topic headings (and subheadings) to assist in finding one's way about efficiently also seems wise. N'est-ce pas?

It would be really useful to have a special forum for Noteflight Classroom users - there are so many possibilities it would be great to compare different ways to manage one's site

The problem with song comments as they work now is that if I want to leave comments on many scores over a range of time, the only way I know if anyone has answered any of my questions etc. I may have presented in the comment is to check up on all those scores one by one. For this reason, I would prefer to be able to see a more forum-like approach to score commenting, where it would be actually be tracked who is commenting on whose comment and there's some sort of indication on your starting page of if somebody replied to you. Maybe even have a forum page created automatically for each new composition (for ones that allow commenting, and if the author wants there to be such a page). Thanks for the great service!

Noteflight is a great site and support is very responsive, but I've been on it for a year and a half, I've put a lot of time into it - I've even become a Crescendo member - but I still don't have a solid sense of community and, out of 100,000+ members, I feel "connected" to no more than about 8...and that, only tenuously. It's hard to believe that the provision the site makes for personal interaction between members is STILL only via song comments, and in fact, if a member has no songs of his/her own posted, there is NO way that that member can be actively contacted.
I'm afraid that, if it isn't there already, Noteflight is going to end up on the down side of the bell curve sooner than later. The issues regarding the need for a social infrastructure really need to be addressed - I do hope you're well past the "interested" stage and very close to the "we'll be making it available any day now" stage!

The features would be nice, please. It would also help if it was a separate registration, just to view them without actually using Noteflight itself?

maybe add features were you can write little demonstration bars of music on your posts?

I think we should be able to embed and link Noteflight scores. That way it would be easier to get to someone's score if they needed help on it.

Has a forum been made? If not I like the suggestion that hooyacrusty made. And I would like to start one if that is Okay.

hey why not have a 'tag' or 'search' ability FOR the comments? this way they'll be linked to the relevant pieces on noteflight anyway, it'd just be a case of presenting the comment information in 'this' format (ie, this forum) instead of solely with the piece. na mean? so there could be a rolling list of new comments, and also perhaps a few pre-ordained 'tags' to attach to the comments like forum titles. for example, i could write a comment on my piece saying 'this should have portamento' and tag it under the 'forum' 'noteflight improvement/requests' type thing. then, the comment could pop up in this very forum with a link to the relevant piece. word?

Anyone can create a forum, it doesn't have to be sanctioned by Noteflight. Maybe some helpful person could start one and save the Noteflight developers the time so they can work on Noteflight.
