I suggest you ...

turn OFF auto save!! (or make it smarter)

The auto save feature is a good idea, but in practice it is very troublesome. Many times I am working with a slow Internet connection and when it starts to save, I have to wait and wait... please allow offline working as well. This would speed up the autosave feature enormously (then maybe it would be OK). Save on local hard drive, then when you go back online - save work to server then!

My problem with auto-save is not the slow-down, but this: When I was working on a score, I temporarily deleted some parts. After auto-save I could not undo the delete, and had to re-create the missing parts.

        Make it
        1) Not autosave during PLAYBACK. GOD I HATE IT WHEN THAT HAPPENS.
        2) Not autosave if you have already saved recently (20 min. timeframe?)

Still definitely a good idea to let people turn it off if they want, but no point keeping it so annoying that everyone turns it off.

Also I agree with Cello95 (maybe on the bottom dock bar there can be a slider and a check box? Check if you want autosave slide for frequency, and then still follow the two rules above, changing rule number two to be the timeframe you set. And if it's in playback when the time hits, then as soon as playback stops. You're welcome.)

yesterday I was editing my song Hallelujah, I was working on some things when it auto-saved and i then had to go back and re-write a part that i was playing with, it took much time and i wish you could just turn the auto-save feature off

I prefer to eliminate the autosaving feature and leave it up yo the user when to save.
        thank you

Why not make an option of turning it off and on? My internet is pretty fast and auto save rarely disrupts anything so I wouldn't mind keeping it. For others with slower internet it'd be more beneficial to everyone if you could simply turn it off.

I disagree because sometimes I forget to save my work. So please make it so that you can turn it off if you want to

Hm, when I'm working offline, I don't close Mozilla. Record was three days with poor notebookies working nonstop. Three days without turning it off, without reseting the RAM...

(it's possible to export even offline, that means you can save it)

And the best part? NF is unable to autosave if you aren't connected! XD

If I accidentally turn off the PC or close the tab, all I have to do is import the xml when I find a wifi point. Midis usually mess the score (mixing it all in one channel, for example). .xml can aren't perfect either, but it's still more accurate. If you aren't sure, use both)

Just be sure to add as many instruments as possible (at least the ones you like). Even if you remove the clef, it's still saved in the temporary folder, so you can just add it again. (as long as you don't close your browser).

Ah, saving the page won't work. Don't try to save the page (and files) to reopen them later. For a moment, you think it worked. But the music won't appear.

NF exports as 'all files', so add the extension and it should be okay.

Besides, most music notation softwares read xml (and you can always download Musescore).

It's just that NF is really easy to use and a lot more intuitive. And it allows users to share music... :)

+1 on this-- PLEASE eliminate autosave (or let me turn it off!!!). VERY annoying and frustrating being constantly interrupted by it. i'm a big boy. i can remember to save all by myself.

Other things that would help immensely:
        1. offline use (save locally more frequently, then save online as a sync)
        2. allow disabling of midi sounds for faster loading

My suggestion is that autosave would happen either immediately before or after playback, but not during it. It seems to cause interruptions to playback.

thank you very much! It is easy enough to save things on your own, at least that way you have control over when it happens. It wouldn't be so bad if you could still keep working while it was saving, but you just have to wait until it has finished saving (which can be fairly long if your score is not trivial)
