This is the only reason I haven't ditched Sibelius yet. You give me part extraction, I will glady pay $100 a year for it

I write music for a band, and this feature is the only thing I'm missing in Noteflight right now. When I'm finished with a song, I have to save it seven times and then delete 6 parts from all the seven songs. When I have to correct something, I have to delete all the seven songs, and start copying songs and deleting parts again.

Having users extract parts by copying the part to another score is not efficient, generates a terrible amount of useless scores. It also forces users to re-enter all the chords and annotation originally in the score. This is a basic feature of all notation software and it should be implemented ASAP.

i like alwo's solution to the problem -- it seems simple and more robust, especially once the Noteflight folks implement some ways to organize folders/files.

If Noteflight extracted parts, chances are they would not show everything you would want them to (ie. specific verbal instructions etc.) Also there may be many bars of rest, that you may just want to condense so the part fits on one or two pages. There could be any number of reasons why the auto-generated part would not be what you want. alwo was correct when he said all you have to do is save a copy and delete the extra parts. Then you can edit it to look exactly how you want it. The biggest problem then becomes having lots of scores in your list, which is just another reason to vote for adding folders to Noteflight.

Yes! this is a strange omission. What use is the score if you can't extract/print the individual parts (except for choral music where everyone reads from the score)?
